Indian Wells Real Estate for Sale
"The destination of the privileged class"

The Golf Course at Indian Wells was the third of six 18-hole golf courses to be built in the Valley. Its founders, including Desi Arnaz, conceived the idea for the Indian Wells Country Club over dinner at Ruby's Dunes restaurant in Palm Springs in 1956. The golf course and country club attracted many celebrities and its members included Arnold Palmer, Bing Crosby and Bob Hope. President Eisenhower enjoyed playing this difficult course.

Indian Wells is also home to the new Tennis Garden that offers the Tennis Masters Series. It is recognized as one of six tour stops where the top men and women's tennis professionals compete simultaneously. It was also one of five tennis facilities nationwide to have been honored in 2001 as "one of the outstanding tennis facilities" by The United States Tennis Association. The Tennis Garden also hosts major concerts as well as other art and cultural events.

The city's beautification efforts were rewarded with a national award from the American Institute of Architects in 1990. Indian Wells is also home to the only symphony orchestra in the Valley. And the Desert Town Hall Lecture Series at Indian Wells features many of the world's prominent personalities. One of Indian Wells' major city goals is to become the financial center of the Coachella Valley.

Resort destinations include The Renaissance Esmeralda, Miramonte and Hyatt Grand Champions resorts, which serve as large conference destinations as well.

The city's population is just over 5,000 and growing rapidly. It is home to some of the wealthiest retirees in the Valley. The average home/condo price was around $625,000 in 2004.
